Join us for the beautifully diverse Human Library at Derby’s popular International Women’s Day Festival Derby 2017. Last year this was our busiest local Human Library ever with 28 Books borrowed and great feedback!

The festival will be on Derby Market Place under a huge marquee with a dedicated tent for the Human Library; pop by anytime during the day to borrow a Book for chat – be curious, ask questions.

Books might include, for example, Refugee, Transgender, Goth, Muslim, Wheelchair User, Eastern European Immigrant, Bipolar, Gender Fluid, On Benefits, Autistic, Romani Gypsy, Gay Dad, Octogenarian, Iranian Woman, Ex Gang Member, Bisexual, Female Fire Fighter, Jewish Lesbian, etc.

The Human Library helps to break down stereotypes and prejudice by bringing people together. This reduces division and isolation, celebrates and educates about diversity whilst also finding that we have #MoreInCommon
